GAME PREVIEW: University of the District of Columbia Women's Basketball vs. Molloy

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY - The University of the District of Columbia women's basketball team seeks its fifth straight win as the Firebirds travel north to take on East Coast Conference foe, Molloy College on Wednesday, January 25th at 6:00 p.m.

District of Columbia (14-3, 5-2 ECC) is coming off a 75-72 win over C.W. Post on Saturday which gave the Firebirds sole possession of second place in the ECC standings. The Firebirds, who have won their last four games, all against ECC teams, improved to 8-0 at home with Saturday's win over CWP. They will look to improve to 4-2 on the road as they square off against Molloy for the first-ever meeting between the two schools.

During its four-game win streak, the Firebirds have been led by senior guard Lauren Brittingham (Washington, DC - Potomac HS) and senior forward Dohnay Banice (Wilmington, DE - Williamson HS). Brittingham, who has filled in for the injured Jamilia Bonner (Mobile, AL - Williamson HS), has averaged 19.5 points and 5.8 assists per-contest over the last four games while Banice is averaging a double-double of 15.0 points and 11.0 rebounds. Banice was named the ECC player of the week on Monday for her performance last week.

Meanwhile, Molloy comes into Wednesday night's game having lost six of its last seven games, including its last four. Even worse is those four straight losses have come by an average of 22.0 points, including a 72-32 drubbing at Dowling on Saturday.

The Lions are led by graduate guard Amanda Bartlett, who averages 17.3 points per-game. They also have the best three-point field goal percentage defense in the conference (22.0-percent).
