WASHINGTON, DC - The University of the District of Columbia women's basketball team seeks its fourth straight victory as it hosts ECC foe C.W. Post on Saturday, January 21st at 1:00 p.m.

The Firebirds are coming off three straight conference wins against NYIT, Bridgeport and Mercy and rank third in the league standings with a mark of 4-2. Senior forward Dohnay Banice (Wilmington, DE - Williamson HS) has played a large role in UDC's recent success, averaging 15.3 points and 10.7 rebounds per-game her last three outings. She is coming off a season-high, 24 point, nine rebound effort on Wednesday night. Also, junior guard Janelle Junior (Riverside, CA - La Sierra HS) has had an increased scoring role of late, averaging 13.0 ppg over the last three games. She knocked down five three-point field goals and scored 19 points on Wednesday night.

Meanwhile, C.W. Post is one of the hottest teams in the league having won eight of its last nine games, and its last two by an average margin of 25.5 points. The reigning ECC Tournament champions rank second in the league standings with a mark of 5-2 and are led by Felicia Joyner (17.1 ppg) and Nicolette Marciniak (11.1 ppg, 9.9 rpg).

The Firebirds and Pioneers are the top-two teams in the ECC in nearly every offensive category: scoring offense, three-point field goal percentage, rebounding offense, assists and offensive rebounds.

C.W. Post won the last meeting between these two schools back on Jan. 2, 2010. The Pioneers defeated the Firebirds, 71-46 at UDC Gym during the UDC New Year's Classic. UDC holds a 2-1 all-time series advantage though. This will be the first time the two teams meet as East Coast Conference rivals.
