UDC ATHLETES "PLAY FOR A CURE" – COME AND SUPPORT THE FIGHT AGAINST BREAST CANCER

Welcome to the UDC Basketball Pink Zone Events. We are going PINK this month in order make people more aware of breast cancer as a health menace. Playing for a Cure has become a standard promotion in men's and women's basketball over the last decade, driven by the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.  (Kay Yow, the former women's basketball coach at NC. State University, and Basketball Hall of Famer, who passed away from breast cancer after her 3rd occurrence,

Jan. 24, 2009) Our athletic activities for this cause are also connected to the Division II motto of "Life in the Balance ", as our student athletes prepare to play hard, succeed in the classroom, and lend a hand in the community – all at the highest level we can achieve.

WEAR PINK to the games to show your support for the fight! Our men (Feb. 16) and women (Feb. 26) will wear pink tees during warm ups as well as pink shoelaces and wrist bands.  There will be other events and opportunities to donate to the cause on game day.  Admission is free, but you can donate to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. All donations made on game night will go to Komen.
