Firebird Women to Host the Washington Adventist Shock, Tuesday
The Washington Adventist University Shock Women's Basketball Team(0-17) comes to town Tuesday, February 8, to play the UDC Firebirds Women's Basketball Team (13-7). The teams have not played each other since the 2009-10 season, when the Firebirds swept the two game series.
In their last outing, the Firebirds had a big, 70-57, win over the King College Tornadoes in Bristol, Tennessee. Graduate student guard Niqyk Hughes (Public Administration-Fort Worth, TX) led the Firebirds to the win scoring 16 points in 22 minutes of play. Senior forward/center Lillian McGill posted her 9th double-double of the season tallying 14 points and grabbing 13 rebounds.
