HOLY FAMILY LADY TIGERS GET PAST UDC LADY FIREBIRDS 63-59

Washington, DC: Holy Family University came into town tonight with a 6-1 record, seeking to extend that to 7-1, and achieved that goal at the expense of the University of the District of Columbia Lady Firebirds. Holy Family hit 58 percent of their two point field goals during first half, which propelled them to a 42-25 half-time lead.

Holy Family led by as many as 20 points (26-46) at 19.07 of the second half, and continued to lead by double digits until 9:17 of the half when UDC began playing more aggressively and brought the score to within 9 points of tying them. Unfortunately, UDC ran out of time after making an impressive comeback.

UDC had no match for Holy Family’s Jennifer Andrews, who scored 22 points. Katie Dunn added 12 points to the win. Megan Bauer scored 10 points, grabbed 17 rebounds from the boards and dished out 4 assists, while Melissa Brooks also dropped in 10 points.

Jennifer Jones pumped in a career high 19 points in the loss for UDC. Talisha McCullough contributed 10 points, while Jaime Brown and Robin Williams scored 9 points each.

UDC (3-11) will see their next action on January 3, 2006 against Slippery Rock University in Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania.
