Firebirds Ousted by Spartans 5-2

WASHINGTON, DC- the University of the District of Columbia's men's tennis team fell to Conference foe, St Thomas Aquinas College to the score of 5-2, Friday afternoon at the South East and Tennis Learning Center.
 
The visiting Spartans claimed the doubles point after sweeping all three matches to head into singles play with the advantage. They extended their lead 3-0 after wins at No.4 and 5, before Louis Mangeon defeated Don Vin Lominoque to the score of 6-1, 7-5 to split the season series 1-1. 
 
STAC went on to win at No.6 to clinch the match, with the last two matches being pushed to three sets. Ondrej Sramek came out victorious with a 6-2, 4-6, 6-2 win over Antonio Simo Durall at No.3 but Louka Queguiner was able to avenge an early season loss after defeating Ludovico Truffelli 7-6(4), 6-7(2), 1-0(7) at No.2.
 
Up next, UDC (10-8, 3-3 ECC) will host Kutztown tomorrow in their home finale. The match is slated to begin at 2:30pm.
