Louka Queguiner Earns ECC Player of the Week Honors

WEST BABYLON, N.Y.- Louka Queguiner was named this week's ECC Player of the Week as was announced by the Conference office earlier today. Louis Mangeon and Mauricio Corty were also named to the Honor Roll.

Queguiner went 4-0 in a 2-0 week for the Firebirds. He helped lead the Firebirds to their first win over Queens in a decade by winning both of his doubles and singles matches, teaming up with Louis Mangeon to defeat Roni Rikkonen and Omar El Shehawey 6-3 at No. 1 doubles and defeating El Shehawey 6-2, 6-4 at No. 2 singles. In UDC's 7-0 win over Virginia State, Queguiner didn't allow his opponent a single point with a 6-0 win at No. 1 doubles and a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 2 singles. 

Corty went a perfect 3-0 in a 2-0 week for UDC. In the 4-3 win over Queens, he teamed up with Oskar Karos to clinch the winning doubles match point with a 7-5 win at No. 2. Sosa went on to clinch the win for the Firebirds with a 6-3, 7-5 win at No. 6 singles. In the Firebirds' 7-0 win against Virginia State, he defeated his opponent, 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5 singles. 

Mangeon went 3-1 in a 2-0 week for UDC. In the Firebirds' 4-3 win over Queens, he teamed up with Louka Queguiner to defeat their opponents 6-3 at No. 1 doubles. He went a perfect 2-0 in a 7-0 win over Virginia State, not allowing his opponents a single point at both No. 1 singles and doubles.
