UDC Men's Tennis Defeats Marymount 6-1
WASHINGTON, DC- The University of the District of Columbia's men's tennis team defeated Marymount University, 6-1 Tuesday afternoon at the UDC Tennis Courts. The Firebirds improved to 3-8 on the season and the Saints fell to 8-4.
The doubles point came down to the No.2 position, after the Firebirds won at No.3 and the Saints won at No.1. The duo of Jake bedforth and Oskar Karos managed to pull of the win to secure UDC the one point advantage heading into singles play.
Karos and Juan Estevez Hernandez opened the lead to 3-0 defeating their opponents 6-1, 6-0. Louis Mangeon then clinched the winning point defeating his opponent at No.1.
Bedforth secured his first clean slate of the season, after winning at No.6 to go 2-0 on the day.
Up Next, UDC (3-8, 0-1 ECC) will head to N.Y. this Saturday to continue conference play against Daemen University.
