Firebirds Defeat Virginia State 6-1

WASHINGTON, DC- The University of the District of Columbia's men's tennis team defeated Virginia State 6-1, in their Saturday afternoon match-up on the UDC Tennis Courts. The Firebirds also celebrated Maksim Bahdanovich and Jake Bedforth for senior day.

Despite having to default at doubles No.3, UDC came away with the doubles point picking up wins at No.1 and 2.

VSU's lone singles point came from default at No.6 and the Firebirds went on to sweep the rest. Both Bahdanovich and Bedforth blanked their opponents 6-0, 6-0, and No.3 and 4 before Louis Mangeon sealed the victory with a win at No.1.

UDC (5-11, 2-3 ECC) will travel to N.Y. Saturday the 23^rd to face off against STAC in their last regular season match. The first serve is slated to begin at 1:30 pm.
