Mangeon Picks Up Win at No. 1; Firebirds Fall to #45 Queens College

WASHINGTON, DC- The University of the District of Columbia's men's tennis team fell 6-1 to #45 ranked Queens College, Friday afternoon at the UDC Tennis Courts.

With only five players the Firebirds needed to win both doubles match to secure the doubles point. Maksim Bahdanovich and Louis Mangeon teamed up at No.1 to put on a great fight but eventually fell to their opponents 6-4. Fredis Ayala and Mauricio Corty teamed up No.2 to defeat Hugo Evangelista and Philipp Uhde 6-3.

The Firebird's lone single point would come from Mangeon at No.1, who defeated Mariano Bibiloni in a three-set match 3-6, 6-4, 1-0(10).

UDC is back in action tomorrow, at home where they will host Virginia State at 1:00 pm. The Firebirds will also be celebrating Bahdanovich and Jake Bedforth for senior day.
