Firebirds Sweep Conference Series with Another Win Over Daemen

WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y- The University of the District of Columbia's men's tennis team has secured themselves as the No.3 seed for the conference tournament, after winning their second matchup against Daemen College, Friday Night at the Miller Tennis Center. The Firebirds improved to 4-10, 2-2 in the league while the Wildcats fell to 3-11, 0-3 ECC.

Louis Mangeon and Juan Estevez Hernandez brought home the first doubles win for the Firebirds, followed by Makskim Bahdanovich and Mauricio Corty Sosa who sealed the deal with a win at No.2.

The Wildcats would even out the score 1-1 with a win at singles No.5 but that tie was short-lived as Fredis Ayala defeated Jack Urdiales 6-1, 6-1, at No.6 to give UDC back the lead.

This win secured the Firebirds as the No.3 seed in the conference tournament.

UDC (4-10, 2-2 ECC) will continue conference play by hosting Queens College in their second meetup of the season on Friday, April 15, at 1:00 pm.
