Firebirds Fall to Chargers

WASHINGTON, DC- The University of the District of Columbia's men's tennis team fell to Dominican College 6-1, Tuesday afternoon at the UDC Tennis Courts. The Firebirds fell to 2-7 on the season and the Chargers improved to 3-1.

After a loss at No.3 doubles, Mauricio Corty and Maksim Bahdanovich teamed up to defeat their opponents 6-4 at No.2. The duo of Louis Mangeon and Juan Estevez Hernandez put up a good fight but eventually fell 7-6(5) at No.1.

Estevez Hernandez gave the Firebirds their lone point of the match after defeating Anthony Kwok 6-3, 4-6, 1(5) at No.3 in singles play.

UDC (2-7, 0-0 ECC) will head to N.Y. on Saturday to face off against Queens College in their conference opener.
