UDC Men's Tennis Fall to Post University 5-2
FLUSHING, N.Y.- The University of the District of Columbia's men's tennis team fell to Post University 5-2, Saturday afternoon.
After losing the doubles match at No.3, Maksim Bahdanovich and Mauricio Corty fought but eventually fell 7-5, at No.2., giving Post the 1-0 edge going into singles play.
Post went on to sweep points at No. 6, 5 and 4 to secure their victory. Louis Mangeon defeated Gustavo Kerber 7-5, 6-3, to give the Firebirds their first point. Juan Estevez Hernandez fought through three rounds at No.4 but fell 6-3, 2-6, 1(9) to Ivan Kalchanov. After a tough 7-6(4) loss at No.1 doubles, Mauricio Corty came back to defeat Nino Krneta 6-3, 7-6(1) securing UDC's second and final point of the day.
UDC (2-4, 0-0 ECC) will face off against the United States Naval Academy, next Sunday the 13th, at 10:00 am
