Rok Bozic Earns Men’s Tennis Second Team All-East Coast Conference Honor
CENTRAL ISLIP, NY – The University of the District of Columbia's Rok Bozic was named Men's Tennis Second Team All-East Coast Conference as voted on by the league's head coaches.
Bozic, a Ljubljana, Slovenia native, was 5-8 overall and 3-2 vs. the ECC at the top singles spot this season. Two of his No. 1 singles losses came vs. Division I opponents while one of his victories came against Division I George Mason's Jimmy Lange, 2-6, 7-6, 10-6. Another of Bozic's marquee singles wins was a stunning, 6-2, 5-7, 12-10 upset over First Team All-ECC selection from Queens College, Sharvill Nawghre.
In doubles play, Bozic teamed up with Marco Feligioni at the No. 2 flight, and the pair earned an overall regular season record of 5-8, including a conference mark of 2-3.
Bozic and the Firebirds were a No. 3 seed in the ECC Tournament but bowed out to tournament host and No. 2 seed, Queens, 5-1 in the semifinals on Friday afternoon.
