Firebirds Blank Daemen, 9-0

WASHINGTON, DC – The University of the District of Columbia men's tennis team swept all three doubles matches and all six singles matches for a 9-0 shutout win vs. East Coast Conference foe Daemen College on Friday afternoon at UDC Tennis Courts.

 

UDC improved to 1-1 in league play (3-7 overall) with the win while Daemen fell to 2-15 overall and 0-3 in the ECC.

 

The Firebirds' No. 3 doubles pair of Noppawat Satprertpry and Ander Murillo dominated their match en-route to an 8-1 victory for the first point of the match. UDC never looked back, as Rok Bozic and Marco Feligioni teamed up for an 8-3 win at No. 2, and Alexis Baguelin and Diego Pinto were victorious, 8-4 at No. 1.

 

Pinto and Feligioni were the first two Firebirds to complete their singles wins at No. 2 and No. 5, respectively, as they helped clinch the match victory. UDC went on to win its singles matches at No. 4, 3, 1, and 6, respectively, to complete the shutout.

 

UDC will host ECC foe Queens College tomorrow at 6 p.m. at the Arlington YMCA Tennis & Squash Center.
