Firebirds Fall to West Virginia Wesleyan, 7-2

WASHINGTON, DC – The University of the District of Columbia men's tennis team was defeated, 7-2 by Virginia Wesleyan College in non-regional action Friday afternoon at UDC Tennis Courts.

The Firebirds (1-4) received wins by their No. 1 doubles pair of Diego Pinto and Alexis Baguelin, and No. 5 singles player Marco Feligioni. Pinto and Baguelin defeated Nathan Sabate and Ferran Berga, 8-5 to avoid a doubles sweep after UDC dropped the No. 2 and 3 flights, respectively. Feligioni then defeated Pedro Nassar, 6-4, 6-3 for the second singles verdict of the match, bringing UDC within 3-2 before it lost the final four singles matches of the day.

UDC returns to action on March 23rd when it hosts cross town Division I foe Howard University.
