WASHINGTON, DC – The University of the District of Columbia men's tennis team was defeated by Division I Georgetown University, 9-0 on Wednesday afternoon at UDC Tennis Courts.

The Firebirds (1-1) lost all three doubles matches and all six singles matches, but played very competitively in two singles matches against the Hoyas. Senior Simon Andersson (Business Management – Ystad, Sweden/Sydskanska Gymnasiet) won his first set, 6-4, and then was narrowly defeated in the second set 7-6 (4) and 10-6 in the tiebreaker. Also, freshman Alexis Baguelin (Business Management – Le Houlme, France/Lycee Ray) gave a valiant effort at No. 1 singles, falling to Daniel Khanin, 6-3, 7-5.

UDC will host USciences on Monday, September 22nd at 3 p.m.
