Firebirds Men's Tennis Climbs to No. 2 in East Region Rankings
INDIANAPOLIS - The University of the District of Columbia men's tennis team has climbed to No. 2 in the NCAA East Region rankings after back-to-back wins over top-five ranked teams last weekend.
The Firebirds (8-2, 4-0 East Coast Conference), who entered last week ranked No. 3 in the region, defeated No. 2 Queens by a score of 6-3 on Saturday, April 6th, and then followed that up with a 5-4 win over No. 4 NYIT the next day.
District of Columbia, who cruised past Division I Howard, 8-1 on Wednesday, April 10th, will play its final regular season conference match vs. winless Dowling on Friday afternoon (weather permitting). The Firebirds will then host the No. 1 team in the East Region, Concordia, for their regular season finale on Sunday, April 14th at 12:30 p.m.
