The Firebirds (14-3) swept the doubles matches to jump out to a quick, 3-0 lead heading into singles play, and then captured five of the six singles matches for the convincing win. Dowling lost its third straight match and fell to 6-7 on the season.

Seniors Bruno Reich and Tomas Gajdusek teamed up for a commanding, 8-1 win at No.  2 doubles to give the Firebirds their initial spark.
