University of the District of Columbia Athletic Department Introduces Firebird Blog
WASHINGTON, DC – The University of the District of Columbia Athletic Department has added another platform to interact with its fans, as it introduced the Firebird Blog on March, 22nd, 2012.
The Firebird Blog, which made its debut today, will be updated weekly to include news and feature stories about Firebird athletics. The athletic department already features a Twitter page – UDCFirebirdfans, Facebook page – UDC Athletics, and YouTube page – UDCAthletics1 in addition to its official website, www.udcfirebirds.com.
"We are excited to interact with the community, fans, and the Firebird family in new and innovative ways," Associate Director of Athletics for Marketing and Communications, Matt Rienzo said. "The first few blogs will be informational in nature as we introduce the athletic department to the 'blogging world,' but we will get into more interesting and fun content as we progress. We will also feature student-athletes and coaches in the blog in the future as well."
