University of the District of Columbia Men's Tennis Defeated 7-0 by Georgetown

WASHINGTON, DC - The University of the District of Columbia men's tennis team suffered its first defeat of the season as the Firebirds fell, 7-0 at Division I Georgetown on Wednesday afternoon at McDonough Outdoor Tennis Complex.

District of Columbia fell to 8-1 overall with the loss while the Hoyas improved to 8-5 on the season.

Georgetown claimed all three doubles victories to earn the doubles point, but not without a fight at the No. 2 spot by Tomas Gajdusek and Bruno Reich. The undefeated pair ultimately went down by a score of 8-6 for their first loss of the season and they are now 6-1 on the year.

The Hoyas were also victorious in all six singles matches. Aleksandar Grabovac lost a very competitive No. 1 singles match, 7-5, 6-2, and Reich forced a third set in his No. 3 singles match before bowing out, 6-2, 3-6, 10-8.

The Firebirds, ranked No. 48 in the nation and No. 3 in the East Region, will look to bounce back on Saturday when they host West Chester University at UDC Tennis Courts at 1:00 p.m.
