Virginia State Nips UDC, 5-4
Washington, DC: April 9, 2010-- With a strong, blustery wind in their faces, the University of the District of Columbia Firebirds Men's Tennis Team got off to a slow start in their match against the Virginia State University Trojans this afternoon at the Southeast Tennis Complex & Learning Center, which resulted in a close, 5-4, defeat. The Trojans opened the match with straight doubles wins to give them a, 3-0, advantage.
UDC found their game in singles play as they came back to win 3-straight matches and knot the score at 3 before Virginia State took the next two singles matches to go ahead, 5-3, and eventually close it out with the 5-4 win.
