St. Marys College Escapes with 5-4 Win over UDC
Washington, DC: March 31, 2010—With a 2-1 doubles match lead, the University of the District of Columbia Firebirds Men’s Tennis Team had high hopes of sealing the overall match victory with enough singles wins. It appeared that they would get the win after singles match wins by Tomas Gajdusek, 6-1, 6-1, and Mahmut Demirkol, 6-1, 6-2, but that would not be sufficient as UDC lost the next four singles matches and fell to St. Mary’s by the score of 5-4.
