Mt. Saint Mary’s Defeats UDC, 6-1
Emmitsburg, MD; March 25, 2010—The Mount of Mt. Saint Mary’s University defeated the University of the District of Columbia Firebirds Men's Tennis Team, 6-1, this afternoon in Emmitsburg, Maryland. UDC’s doubles combo of sophomores Mahmut Demirkol (Istanbul, Turkey/Ozdemir Sabanci Emirgan Lisesi) and Tomas Gajdusek (Prague, Czech Republic/Gymnazium Nad Stolou) defeated Patrick Plastow and Matthew Blake, 8-3, in the first doubles match. Mt. Saint Mary’s won the two remaining doubles matches, 8-2, and by default.
Tomas then won his singles match against Plastow 7-6, 6-1. The Mounts won the five other singles matches.
