UDC Tennis Falls to Catholic University, 5-4

Washington, DC: March 18, 2010: The University of the District of Columbia Firebirds Men’s Tennis Team fell to the Catholic University Cardinals, 5-4, in an afternoon match at Catholic today.  Catholic won two doubles matches, while UDC took one. The Firebirds went on to win the first three singles matches with victories by sophomore Tomas Gajdusek/Prague, Czech Republic (6-7, 6-4), sophomore Mahmut Demirkol/ Istanbul, Turkey (6-2, 6-1, 6-0), and  senior Adrian Wyllie/Kingstown, St. Vincent (1-6, 6-3, 6-2).

The Cardinals played tough and held on to take the last three singles matches, 6-2, 6-0; 6-0, 6-1 and 6-0, 6-0. UDC fell to 1-2 for the season with this loss, but look to bounce back on March 20, at Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
