Firebirds Shut Out the Shocks; Gomes Lands First Hat Trick of the Season

Washington, DC- Vitor Gomes scored his first hat trick of the season to help lead the Firebirds to a 4-0 victory over the Washington Adventist Shocks.

Gomes who took a total of seven shots (five of which were on goal), scored the first goal of the game a little over seventeen minutes into the first half. Less than ten minutes later Pierre LaNoire took a corner kick for the Firebirds, which was headed to the back of the Shocks net by Gomes to bring the score to2-0 going into half time.

The second half saw the Firebirds sending two more shots to the back of the net split between Gomes and Malik Thom. Goalkeeper Milton Diaz, who played the second half, was able to keep shut out the shocks with three saves to bring the final score to 4-0.

UDC (6-10, 3-3 ECC) will resume conference play on November 2ndas they head to N.Y to face off against Daemen College at 1:30pm.
