Former UDC Soccer Standout Signs with Carolina RailHawks

CARY, NC - The Carolina RailHawks of the North American Soccer League (NASL) have signed former University of the District of Columbia standout midfielder Jonathon Orlando ahead of the 2016 Spring Season. Orlando, an impressive goal scorer and opportunity creator, will provide an additional threat to the RailHawks' attack.

"Jonathon is a great addition to the team and we are excited to have him," said RailHawks Head Coach, Colin Clarke. "He has the ability to change a game and we look forward to seeing him on the pitch in 2016."

Orlando grew up playing soccer in the Washington, DC area. He attended the University of the District of Columbia, where he took over the attack and led the Firebirds squad. Orlando was the team leader in a whopping six categories: goals, assists, points, game-winning goals, shots on goal, and shots.

At the conclusion of his freshman season in 2005, Orlando ranked 8th in goals scored among all NCAA Division II schools. Orlando also ranked 10th in points per game among Division II schools, earning himself substantial recognition in the league.
