Firebirds Fall at Queens, 4-0 in Season Finale

FLUSHING, NY – The University of the District of Columbia men's soccer team suffered a 4-0 defeat on the road vs. East Coast Conference foe Queens College (NY) in its season finale Wednesday afternoon.

The Firebirds fell to 5-11-1 overall and 3-7 in league play with the loss while the Knights extended their league winning streak to six games and improved to 7-2 in ECC play(7-8 overall).

Glen Reid led the way for Queens, who is battling NYIT for the No. 2 seed in next week's ECC Championship Tournament. Reid scored the game's first goal just before the 8-minute mark and assisted on the Knights' 2nd and 4th goals.

Queens out-shot UDC 14-6 and took eight corner kicks to the Firebirds' five. Knights goalkeeper Robbie Webster made three saves to preserve the shutout victory while senior UDC goalie Louis Connor stopped five shots and allowed four goals in a losing effort. Connor finishes his three-year Firebird career 2nd on the school's all-time career saves list with 234.
