WASHINGTON, DC - On Friday, April 17th the UDC Men's Soccer Program concluded its 2014-15 community service engagements by going to the DC Central Kitchen.

One group of student-athletes was asked to slice onion and broccoli and a second group helped to place pastry. Afterwards, the entire team helped wipe down work stations, clean off shelving and distribute the food.

During a break, a few student-athletes engaged in light-hearted sprint races in the alley way against staff who had claimed to have run in college.

"Thankfully the early mornings of spring training came through and they won!" assistant coach Daniel Wadeson said. "The humor and light-heartedness of the group helped to break the ice with those they were working with for the three-hour shift duration."

Men's Assistant Coach Daniel Wadeson said the players enjoyed being put to task and formed great relationships with staff and fellow volunteers alike.

"This was certainly a great cause and volunteer opportunity. The Men's Soccer program looks forward to returning in the future as this visit will become a permanent fixture on our community service calendar," he said.
