Elio Hernandez to Train With El Salvador U-20 Soccer Team

SAN, El SALVADOR - Freshman Elio Hernandez of the University of the District of Columbia men's soccer team has been invited to train with the El Salvador U-20 National Team coached by Mauricio Alfaro.

Hernandez (Health - Germantown, MD (El Salvador)/Northwest HS) was evaluated at an open tryout session held in Washington, DC a few weeks ago, and shortly thereafter, was one of 35 athletes invited to come to San, El Salvador to compete for one of the 21 roster spots on El Salvador's U-20 World Cup team this summer in Turkey.

Hernandez registered nine points this season on three goals and three assists last fall in his rookie season with the Firebirds.
