University of the District of Columbia SAAC Hosts Successful Make-A-Wish Week

WASHINGTON, DC  –  The University of the District of Columbia Student-Athlete Advisory Committee hosted a "Make-A-Wish" Initiative that spanned from September 24th to October 15th in an effort to raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

The SAAC raised approximately $300 through the sales of Tribute Soccer balls and wrist bands and also suggested a $2 donation for admission at the Firebirds' home soccer match against Dowling on September 29th. The sales of tribute balls and wrist bands continued during "Make-A-Wish Week" which spanned from October 5th-15th. One-hundred-percent of the proceeds went to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation is an organization that strives to enrich the lives of children with life-threatening medical conditions through its wish-granting work.
