University of the District of Columbia Men's Soccer Volunteers At Rock n' Roll Marathon

WASHINGTON, DC - The University of the District of Columbia men's soccer team volunteered at the Washington, DC Rock n' Roll Marathon on Friday, March 16th.

The student-athletes were placed at stations at the health and fitness expo where they handed out t-shirts, goodie bags, and registration cards to people that signed up for the half marathon. They were based at the XL, L, M or S stations, and they signed people in, gave them their relevant shirt size, and directed them to where they needed to report the following day.

"Getting involved in the community is important to our philosophy, and it was a great opportunity to help out," assistant men's soccer coach Patrick Cormac said. "The boys enjoyed meeting members of the community who were racing, and they represented the men's soccer program and their school very well. All in all, it was an enjoyable day, and we'll look forward to helping out next year."
