UDC Falls to Lock Haven, 6-2

Lock Haven, PA: October 9, 2010-- Senior defender/mid-fielder and team captain Samer Shehadeh (Criminal Justice-Falls Church, VA) scored two goals in the University of the District of Columbia Men's Soccer Team's ,6-2,  loss to the Lock Haven University Bald Eagles, today, in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania.

Shehadeh got the Firebirds on the board in the 38th minute when he deflected a cross in off a defender. His second goal came in the 67th minute with an assist on a cross from junior mid-fielder Tansu Korkmaz (Business-Istanbul, Turkey) .
The Bald Eagles jumped out to an early lead with three quick goals. The first goal was scored by Kyle Fuerst with an assist from Paul Brungard in the 20th minute.
 
Martin Pletz followed that up with a goal in the 22nd minute with an assist from Terence Gochera. Then, after the first UDC goal, Greg Shertzer came back to add to the lead in the 40th minute .

Fuerst scored his second goal of the day in the 48th minute with an assist from Shertzer from 6 yards out.  Shertzer completed a hat trick with his third goal of the day, taking a cross from Billy Pasukinis in the 66th minute of play.

UDC goalkeeper freshman Kyle Heatherington(Business-Collingwood, Ontario Canada) faced 8 shots on goal and made 2 saves, while the Lock Haven goalkeeper Chad Badorf faced 5 and made 3 saves. UDC took 10 shots to Lock Haven's 16.

The Firebirds(3-9-1) move on to face the Mercyhurst University Lakers at home on October 17, at 2 p.m.
