UDC Men's Soccer Falls to Pitt-Johnston, 1-0, in Tournament

Johnstown, PA: September 4, 2010-- A free kick goal scored at 29:36 into the match lifted the University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown Mountain Cats  to a, 1-0, win over the visiting University of the District of Columbia Firebirds Men's Soccer Team today in Johnstown, Pennsylvania in the first round of the 2010 Pitt-Johnstown Kickoff Classic.  Zeke Buchta scored the lone goal following a UDC penalty .

The very closely played match saw the Firebirds face 19 shots from the Mountain Cats, while delivering 16 of their own.  UDC freshman goal keeper Kyle Heatherington (Business major-Ontario, Canada) made 3 goal saves during the match as UPJ's goal keeper Nolan Levine made 9 to stop all UDC scoring attempts and secure the shutout.

UDC's next opponent in the Classic will be the Virginia Wesleyan Marlins on Sunday, September 5, at 12 noon.
