UDC Falls to Slippery Rock, 5-0
Slippery Rock, PA: October 24, 2009—Substituting liberally
and keeping the University of the District of Columbia Firebirds
off balance while scoring 5 unanswered goals, "The Rock" of
Slippery Rock University defeated the Firebirds, 5-0, this
afternoon in Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania. Sophomore forward Kenneth
Fultz (Harrisburg, PA) performed a hat trick, scoring 3 goals, to
lead The Rock past the visiting Firebirds.
Fultz scored goals in the 34th, 44th and 63rd minutes while
teammates senior forward Jeremy Deighton (Broadview, OH) scored in
the 6th minute and sophomore defender Ryan Pindroh (Pittsburgh, PA)
in the 88th minute to give Slippery Rock the shutout. Slippery Rock
outshot UDC 33-11, but UDC goal keeper senior Kareem Gray
(Gasparillo, Trinidad) made 12 saves in the match.
UDC (2-11-1) returns to action on Thursday, October 29, at 2 p.m.,
for a Homecoming match against Lock Haven University.
