9/12/2009 Wilson, NC--- The Barton College Bulldogs escaped with a, 1-0, win over the Universityof the District of Columbia Firebirds tonight in Wilson, North Carolina. The winning goal came in the 50th minute when Lloyd O'Neil received a serve from Heinz Guttenberger and took a 26 yard shot into the left bottom of the net. UDC outshot Barton 12-9, but came up on the losing end after Barton goal keeper Brian Riesenberg made 7 saves.

UDC (1-4-1) returns to the field on September 17, against Mercyhurst University in Erie, Pennsylvania.
