UDC Edges Shepherd,1-0

Shepherdstown, WV: September 29, 2009—Freshman defender Allan Aguilar (Woodbridge, VA) kicked the tie breaking, game winning goal to give the University of the District of Columbia Firebirds a, 1-0, victory over the Shepherd University Rams today in Shepherdstown, West Virginia.  Aguilar took a pass from sophomore defender Kevin Santos (Sterling, VA) to score the goal in the 84th minute.

The Firebirds outshot the Rams 22-12 in the match. Firebird senior goal keeper Kareem Gray (Gasparillo, Trinidad) made 7 saves to sustain the shutout.

The Firebirds improved to 2-7-1 with this win. They return to action on October 3, against Bloomsburg University in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania.
