UDC Defeats UPJ 1-0 in Overtime Win

Washington, DC: August 29, 2009—Sophomore mid-fielder Said Nabih (Alexandria, VA) scored on a free kick in overtime to lift the University of the District of Columbia Firebirds to a 1-0 overtime win over the University of Pittsburgh Mountain Cats this afternoon in Washington, DC. The game went into to overtime after neither team was able to get the ball pass some tough defensive stances. Nahib also kicked the tying score for the Firebirds in their 1-1 game tie with Wheeling Jesuit University this past Thursday night in West Virginia.

UDC returns to the field of action on September 2, 2009,  against Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania. The Firebirds are now 1-0-1 for the season.
