UDC and Wheeling Jesuit Play to 1-1 Double Overtime Tie In Soccer Match

Wheeling, WV: August 27, 2009—Sophomore mid-fielder Said Nabih (Alexandria, VA) of the University of the District of Columbia Firebirds Men’s Soccer Team took a free kick from about 20-25yards out at the 60:54 mark of a soccer match against Wheeling Jesuit University tonight, in Wheeling, West Virginia, to give UDC a 1-1 double overtime tie in their first match of the season.  Wheeling took 19 shots to UDC’s 6, with UDC senior goal keeper Kareem Gray (Gasparillo, Trinidad) making 9 saves in the match.

The Firebirds return to action on Saturday, August 29, at 4 p.m., in their home opener against Pitt-Johnstown University at the UDC Soccer Field.
