Firebirds Fall in Road Conference Match-Up Against Spartans

SPARKHILL, N.Y.- the University of the District of Columbia's men's lacrosse team fell to St Thomas Aquinas College 7-16, in a conference match up on the road.

Zakai Robinson posted a team-high three points on two goals and an assist. Jordan Schemm and Julian Schemm each scored two goals and Dylan Donaldson scored one goal while dishing out an assist. Najee Wilson made a game-high 16 saves.

The first quarter was close, as the Spartans had a one goal advantage on the Firebirds heading into the second with a score of 4-3.

The second and third quarters proved lethal for the Firebirds as the home team outscored them 10-1. UDC outscored STAC 3-2 in the final quarter, with Schemm scoring two unassisted goals.

The Firebirds struggled at the face-off line going just 1-27, they were out-shot by the Spartans 63-21, and STAC grabbed 63 ground balls compared to UDC's 21. 

Up next, UDC (1-8, 0-3 ECC) will host D'Youville University next Saturday at the Georgetown Day School. Tip-off is set for noon.
