Schemm and Donaldson Net Hat Trick Against Chowan

MURFREESBORO, N.C- the University of the District of Columbia's men's lacrosse team fell to Chowan University 7-21, on the road. The Firebirds slip to 0-3 on the season while the Hawks improve to 2-2.

Julian Schemm netted his second hat trick of the season and Dylan Doaldson picked up his first. Joshua Copeland also scored his first goal as a Firebird and Najee Wilson made 20 saves. 

The Hawks opened up an early 5-0 lead over the Firebirds in the first quarter before Schemm was able to stop the bleeding netting his first goal at the 3:51 mark. Chowan scored the next two goals but Donaldson would end the quarter with a goal of his own. 

The visiting Firebirds were held scoreless in the second quarter but Copeland and Donaldson were able to get on the scorebaord in the third. 

UDC's best offensive quarter came in the fourth as they scored three goals, with Donaldson and Schemm completing their hat tricks with the final goal assisted by Maxwell Hansberry.

Chowan led UDC in several statistical categories including ground balls (67-34), Face-Offs (25-7) and shots (56-31).

Up next, UDC (0-3) will head to Davis & Elkins next Wednesday, for a start time of 2:00pm
