DOBBS FERRY, N.Y.- The University of the District of Columbia's men's lacrosse team fell to #5 nationally ranked Mercy College, Saturday afternoon at the Mercy Field. Eric Boco led the Firebird offense scoring a game-high four goals.
Six Firebirds made their way onto the scoreboard including Boco, Julian Schemm who netted two, and Jacob Saunders, Jeffrey Vo, Daniel Orebiyi, and Zander Torres each added one.
It was a long first quarter for the Firebirds as Mercy scored 12 goals while holding them to none. UDC heated up in the second quarter with Schemm ending the scoring drought leading to the Firebirds outscoring Mercy 5-1 going into the half.
Coming off the break the home team took back control outscoring the Firebirds 8-5 in the second half to secure a 21-10 victory.
UDC (1-6, 0-3 ECC) will continue conference play with a Frostburg State make-up date. Details to follow.
