Two Firebirds Earn Men’s Lacrosse All-East Coast Conference Honors

CENTRAL ISLIP, NY – University of the District of Columbia’s junior midfielder LaRon Hinton was named Men’s Lacrosse All-East Coast Conference Second Team, and junior faceoff specialist Teilen Celentano was named All-ECC Third Team in an announcement by the league office on Friday, May 5th. The voting was conducted by the conference head coaches.

Firebirds Win Season Finale 12-6 at Dominican; Set Program Records for Overall, Conference Wins

HILLBURN, NY – The University of the District of Columbia men’s lacrosse team has set program records for overall and conference wins in a season as the visiting Firebirds defeated East Coast Conference foe Dominican College, 12-6 in its season finale Saturday afternoon at Torne Valley Complex.

Hart scored three goals in the Firebirds effort.

WASHINGTON, DC – A fourth-year program nearly upset the four-year reigning East Coast Conference champions, but the host and underdog University of the District of Columbia men’s lacrosse team was narrowly defeated in overtime, 16-15 by LIU Post in thrilling ECC action on a rainy Saturday afternoon at UDC Field.

Lund-Murray stopped 13 of 21 shots faced in a complete-game victory vs. RWC.

CENTRAL ISLIP, NY – The University of the District of Columbia Men’s Lacrosse student-athletes – Nikolas Lund-Murray and LaRon Hinton earned East Coast Conference weekly honors for their respective performances in the week ending Saturday, April 15th. Lund-Murray was named Defensive Player of the Week and Hinton was an Honor Roll selection of the week.

Lund-Murray allowed a season-low eight goals today as he stopped 13 shots.

WASHINGTON, DC – The University of the District of Columbia men’s lacrosse team earned a 10-8 victory vs. East Coast Conference foe Roberts Wesleyan College on Saturday afternoon at Woodrow Wilson HS.

Nash had one goal and a team-high three caused turnovers.

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY – The University of the District of Columbia men’s lacrosse team was defeated by Molloy College, 15-6 in East Coast Conference play Saturday afternoon at Rockville Centre Sports Complex.

WASHINGTON, DC – The University of the District of Columbia men’s lacrosse team suffered a 19-6 loss to Chestnut Hill College in the program’s first ever home lacrosse game played at UDC Field on the Van Ness campus on Saturday afternoon.

Hinton is now 4th in the ECC on points.

WATERBURY, CT – Junior midfielder LaRon Hinton surpassed the University of the District of Columbia men’s lacrosse record for goals and points scored in a season with his game-high five goals today, but the Firebirds were defeated by NCAA Division II East Region foe Post University, 15-12 on Saturday afternoon at LaMoy Field.

WASHINGTON, DC – The University of the District of Columbia men’s lacrosse team was defeated, 14-12 by No. 13 nationally-ranked Mercy College in East Coast Conference play on Saturday afternoon at Cooper Field.

Celentano was 13-of-24 on faceoffs and scored one goal.

OLD WESTBURY, NY – The University of the District of Columbia men’s lacrosse team was defeated, 25-4 on the road at the No. 4 ranked team in Division II, New York Institute of Technology, in East Coast Conference action on Saturday afternoon at President’s Stadium.

HAMPTON, VA – In the historic first ever meeting between the nation’s only NCAA Division I HBCU Men’s Lacrosse program – Hampton University, and the nation’s first and only NCAA Division II HBCU Men’s Lacrosse program – University of the District of Columbia, the visiting Firebirds came out on top by a final score of 19-15 on Saturday afternoon at Armstrong Stadium.
