WASHINGTON, DC – Former University of the District of Columbia track & field All-American Shauna-Kay Creary ('14) and recent men's lacrosse graduate Stevens Cadet were both featured in the UDC School of Business and Public Administration Summer 2015 Newsletter.

Creary, who completed her BBA this past May, is one of 13 currently enrolled SBPA students and recent graduates participating in the District of Columbia Chief Finance Officer's Internship Institute. The Internship Institute takes place across eight clusters in the District of Columbia Government – Chief Risk Officer, Department of Environment, Department of Transportation, Events DC, Government Operations, Integrity and Oversight, Real Property Tax Division, and UDC's Education Cluster.

In addition to gaining practical experience, the interns – with assistance from other SBPA Advisory Board Members – will be participating in workshops geared toward social media and other professional enhancement techniques necessary for success in today's work environment.

Creary, who was the first UDC student-athlete to compete at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships in the Long Jump event in 2013, and later that season, an Outdoor All-American in the Triple Jump, was also recognized at the SBPA Appreciation Luncheon on May 7th for providing professional service to the faculty, staff and students of SBPA during the 2014-15 academic year.

Meanwhile, not only was Cadet a solid contributor the past two seasons for UDC's start-up Men's Lacrosse program, he also found a niche with the SBPA's brand new Entrepreneur Club, which enjoyed a very successful first year reaching 50 members in 2014-15.

Cadet served as a panelist for the Entrepreneurship Club's year-end event, Social And Economic Innovations in Entrepreneurship, held on April 7th. As a panelist, Cadet was tasked with explaining how his particular activity was sustainable, supported fair and beneficial human resources policies and adopted sustainable environmental practices.
