Chase Fraser Earns Men’s Lacrosse All-East Coast Conference Honorable Mention

CENTRAL ISLIP, NY – Freshman attack Chase Fraser earned men's lacrosse All-East Coast Conference Honorable Mention for his outstanding rookie campaign in the University of the District of Columbia men's lacrosse program's inaugural season.

Fraser (Elementary Education – Aldergrove, BC/Blue Ridge School), who won an ECC-best three Rookie of the Week honors during the regular season, led all Division II freshmen with 37 points on 31 goals and six assists. He also led the team with 105 shots and put 61 of them on goal for a 58.1-percent shot on-goal percentage, and he collected 18 ground balls and caused four turnovers.

Fraser scored in nine of the 10 games he played in this season, scoring multiple goals eight times. He scored six goals twice – in the historic first ever lacrosse game played by UDC vs. Marymount on February 22nd  and in a 13-11 win over Post on March 22nd. Against Post, he registered a season-high eight points on six goals and two assists. He also scored five goals and collected a season-high seven ground balls in a thrilling, 8-7 upset victory on the road at Mercy on April 5th.

Fraser and the Firebirds finished the 2014 inaugural season 3-8 overall and 2-6 in a loaded East Coast Conference which has three teams ranked in the USILA Coaches Top-15 poll and another receiving votes.
