Solid Team Effort Leads to Firebirds Victory Over the Saints

BUFFALO N.Y.-  After meeting for the second time this season, the University of the District of Columbia's men's basketball team secured another conference victory over D'Youville College, Friday evening at the College Center Gym. All 10  Firebirds made it onto the scoreboard to improve their record to 5-15, 4-6 in the ECC while the Saints fell to 2-16, 1-9 in league play.

Jahmir Marable-Williams led UDC with 14 points while grabbing four boards, three assists, and three steals. Hartnel Haye, Deonte Hicks, David Buriss, and Kenyon Stone were also all double-figure scorers. Tevin Curtis led the Firebirds with seven rebounds while also contributing three assists and three steals.

The visiting Firebirds shot at 42.9% from the field while holding the home team to 38.3%. They outrebounded the Saints 44-38, had more bench points (38-11), more fast break points, more points in the paint, and more second-chance points. 

UDC (5-15, 4-6 ECC) will finish up their road trip on Sunday afternoon as they head to compete against Daemen College for the second time this season. Tip-off time is set for 2:00 pm and will be live-streamed on the ECC network.
