Michael Terry Earns East Coast Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week

CENTRAL ISLIP, NY – Junior guard Michael Terry of the University of the District of Columbia men's basketball team was named East Coast Conference player of the week for his outstanding performance in the Firebirds' 106-86 season finale win over Mercy on Saturday, March 2nd.

Terry (Criminal Justice – Philadelphia, PA/Boston U) scored a career-high 38 points on 15-of-23 shooting from the field and added 10 rebounds, three assists and three steals to help lead District of Columbia to its fourth consecutive home win to end the season.

He is the 2nd Firebird player to be so honored after junior transfer Ralph Watts earned this distinction on February 18th. Terry finished the season with team-best 15.2 points per-game (9th in the ECC) and 5.1 rebounds per-game averages. He also ranks 6th in the league in three-point shooting percentage at 37.1.

The Firebirds finished the 2012-13 season with a record of 6-20 (5-13 ECC). Terry and dynamic junior transfer point guard Quasim Jones (Business Management – Philadelphia, PA/Johnson CC) are both set to return in 2013-14.
