Queens (3-12, 3-4 ECC) at District of Columbia (2-13, 1-6)

Wednesday, January 23rd – UDC Gym (Washington, DC)

Opening Tip-Off

The University of the District of Columbia men's basketball team hosts East Coast Conference foe Queens on Wednesday night at 5 p.m. Watch Live Stats and Live Video.

Updating the Firebirds

District of Columbia has lost its last three games, including Saturday's, 81-60 defeat at home vs. Molloy. Last time out, the Firebirds were without their point guard and leading scorer, Quasim Jones (Business Management – Philadelphia, PA/Johnson CC), and consequently, they turned the ball over a season-high 22 times.

Scouting Queens

The Knights have lost seven of their last nine games but are coming off a 75-66 win at home over Roberts Wesleyan on Saturday. In that game, Queens got a huge lift from its bench as Knights reserves combined for 37 points on the day, 22 of which were by junior guard George Holmes. Although Holmes does not start, he plays nearly 34 minutes per-game coming off the bench and averages 15.0 points, 7.1 rebounds and 3.5 assists per-contest. Patrick Parker leads the team in scoring with 15.7 points per-game.

The Matchup

The Firebirds seek their second ECC win in eight tries on Wednesday night while Queens looks to improve to .500 (4-4) in league play and stay in contention for a conference playoff spot. Both of District of Columbia's wins this season have come at UDC Gym where they are 2-3 overall, and the Knights are a dreadful 1-10 this season when playing away from their home, Fitzgerald Gym.
