GAME PREVIEW: University of the District of Columbia Men's Basketball vs. Queens

FLUSHING, NY - The University of the District of Columbia men's basketball team seeks its third straight win as the Firebirds visit East Coast Conference foe, Queens College on Saturday, February 4th at 5:30 p.m.

District of Columbia, which took sole possession of 2nd place in the league standings after a Bridgeport loss on Wednesday night, comes in with a record of 16-3 overall and 7-2 in league play. The Firebirds will look to complete the season sweep of the Knights having defeated them, 77-69 at home back on November 30, 2011. Junior forward Dyrek Jones (Brooklyn, NY - Bedford Academy) has emerged as a defensive force in the paint, as he ranks 10th in the nation in blocked shots per-game (2.6).

Queens comes into Saturday evening's game with an overall record of 4-16 and a league mark of 3-7. The Knights have lost their last five straight games - the last of which was a narrow, 65-62 loss at home on Wednesday night versus STAC. They are led by Khali McDonald, who averages 17.2 ppg.
