GAME PREVIEW: University of the District of Columbia Men's Basketball vs. Molloy

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY - The University of the District of Columbia men's basketball team will look to shake off just its third loss of the season on Saturday as the Firebirds visit East Coast Conference foe Molloy College on Wednesday, January 25th at 8:00 p.m.

District of Columbia (14-3, 5-2 ECC) is coming off a tough, 92-85 loss to the reigning ECC champion C.W. Post Pioneers on Saturday. It was the Firebirds' first loss at home since 2010 (snapping a 14-game streak) and just the second loss to a Division II team this season.

Senior guard Nigel Munson (Washington, DC - DeMatha HS) is coming off a season-high 35-point performance in his last outing with propelled him to over 1,000 points for his college career. This accomplishment came exactly one week after fellow senior backcourt mate Brandon Herbert (Baltimore, MD - McDonough HS) eclipsed the mark at Bridgeport. Munson ranks 23rd in the nation in scoring at 20.4 ppg while Herbert is 29th with 20.1 ppg.

Molloy comes into Wednesday night's game with an overall record of 5-12 and a conference mark of 2-5. The Lions have lost six of their last seven games, including their last three. They are led by the top three-point shooter in the conference, Jimmy Nolan, who makes 44-percent of his shots from downtown and averages 19.1 ppg.
